TOKYO (XX NOVEMBER 2011) – Ever wondered what apps others have? Ever felt dazed
searching through 500,000 apps in the App Store? Tokyo-based startup eureka, Inc.
released on 17 October 2011 peepapp, a free iPhone application that helps users discover
and share applications with their social network.

As we all know, the App Store is flooded with over 500,000 iPhone apps, and users
have difficulty searching for great apps out there. Sometimes, the best way to discover
an app is by showing, comparing, and sharing recommended apps with friends face-
to-face. peepapp is designed to help users discover new apps by highlighting popular
apps among user’s social network. With peepapp, not only can you connect with your
friends on Facebook or Twitter, but can also connect with celebrities and famous people
through “peepapp friends”. Users can peep at celebrities and famous people’s apps
by becoming friends on peepapp. Push notification will notify users whenever they are
followed by a new user. The information is delivered in real-time and it is very easy to find
trending apps.

The difference between peepapp and its competitors is the pursuit of simplicity, avoiding
the over-elaborate and unnecessary. peepapp completely eliminated Top iPhone Apps
List on iTunes and focuses solely on “Social App Ranking”. Social App Ranking is original
application ranking on peepapp to highlight relevant and popular apps in user’s social
connections. Social App Ranking excludes apps already downloaded on a mobile device,
therefore users will be able to discover only new and trending apps.

peepapp also has a beautiful and user-friendly UI to deliver best possible experience
to users. The “4-by-4″ icon screen design creates an experience as if users are

According to eureka, Inc., an update for peepapp is already on its way – to redesign the
backend to reduce false detection rate and increase detection rate of paid apps. In the
future update, peepapp will also add a wallpaper detecting function that posts wallpaper
on user’s mobile device on peepapp and deliver users the experience as if they are really
peeping into another user’s mobile phone. While the upcoming updates of iPhone version
is in progress, Android version of peepapp is nearly complete and the official launch is just
around the corner.
